Aatidonji dina program was jointly organized by Mangaluru Bhandary samaja sangha, Bhandary Yuva Vedike and Bhandary Swayamsevaka Sangh at Suma Sadana hall Kadri in Mangaluru on 30th July 2017.The program was presided over by the Sangha president Nagesh. M. Bhandary and was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by the honorable mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation Mrs. Kavita Sanil and former MLA from Karkala Shri Gopal Bhandary Hebri. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Kavita Sanil said, “Let your intention to organize Aatidonji dina be fulfilled.” “Aati is a good celebration. People join in the social organisations in the name of Aati celebration” Gopala Bhandary Hebri addressed the gathering & advised to be United in the community. Film actor and writer Shekhar Bhandary Karkala entertained the crowd by his timely chutuku deliveries & also said that today’s children enjoy IT & BT instead of Aati.
Former editor of the Kachuru Vani monthly newspaper, A.K. Bhandary spoke about Aatida madipu. Bhandary Yuva Vedike President Satyarajan Bhandary Kuthethuru announced that Bhandary yuva sangama will be held in Mangaluru during October or November of this year. Sadashiva Sakleshapura, President of Bhandary Mahamandala and president of padubidri bhandary samaja sangha, Sandeep Palimar spoke few words about specialities of Aati. President of Suratkal Bhandary samaja sangha, Pramod Bhandary, President of Beltangady Bhandary samaja sangh, Poovappa Bhandary, Kachuru sri Nageshwara temple former managing trustee Vishwanath Bhandary Kadabettu, treasurer Sanjeeva Bhandary Bannanje, co-treasurer Varija Vasudeva Bhandary Kappettu, trustee Ashok Bhandary Kutpady, President of Udupi Bhandary Samaj Sangha, Harishram Bhandary, president of Swayamsevaka sangha Vani.S.Bhandary were present on the dias. After the stage program there was entertainment & cultural programs by the community members. Sixty two varieties of traditional aati cuisines, lentils, and salads were offered for lunch. Specialties of the program were delicious food.
