Pillars of Bhandary Samaja and Their Contribution

       The first Bhandary association was established in the year 1956 by Mulki Koragappa master, who is also the founder president of the first sangha 9 magane Bhandary sudharaka sangha . Kadri  Sanjeeva Bhandary was the Secretary and Kulai Vittal Bhandary was treasurer of the association.   This was the first move in Bhandary samaja to unite and strengthen the Bhandary community .

       When Kaup Pandu Bhandary found that there is a temple in Barkuru, which belongs to our Bhandary community  he thought of renovating it and making that temple a Devine center for Bhandary community.  In the year 1988 He started gathering people and sought help from them. A renovation committe was formed. Katla sanjeev Bhandary Kadri was appointed as President  and Kadabettu K Vishwanath Bhandary as Secretary and Adalitha Trustee, Kulai Vittal Bhandary as treasurer respectively .

       Katla Sanjeeva Bhandary Kadri initiated to startup Bhandary union all over D K And Udupi Taluk and also Bhandary community members living worldwide.  Later under his guidance the first souvenir “Shri Nageshwara” was published which contained  the history of Kachuru region and address of Bhandary samaja people. K Anantharam Bangady was the chief editor and co-editors  Prakash Bhandary Katla,  Nittur Sanjeeva Bhandary,  Udayanand Bhandary Perdooru , Suresh Maroli,  Sudhakar Kalbavi joined hands with the team. Seeking the support of Bhandary  associations  of every taluk they worked hard to get the donations in a unique way without paining the people, the intention was very clear Kachuru Shri Nageshwara temple should be built with the contributions from only Bhandary community members. Finally the Brahma Kalasha for the temple was done successfully in 1993 .

      In the year 1991 the monthly magazine “Shree Nageshwara” (now it’s called Kachuruvani) was published  under the guidance of Prakash Bhandary Katla edited by Udayananda Bhandary Perdooru Sudhakar Kalbavi as printer

      In the year 1995 the first Bhandary women’s association  was started and Vidya Prakash Bhandary became  the first women President . Praksh Bhandary katla dreamt of having a co-operative society of our own community in the name Kachuru nageshwara and named it as Kachuru credit co-operative society and as we all know it’s no longer a dream.        Because of commitment and hard work of many such people Shri Kachuru Nageshwara temple became a devine center for the people of  Bhandary community from all the corners of  the county including Bangalore Mumbai Gulf countries so on. Sanjeeva Bhandary Will always be rememberd for his great contribution in the  journey towards success and unity . He was worked hard to add a golden feather to the hat of success of Bhandary samaja . As we all know the annual festival will be held every year in Kachuru and people gather in large number this is  the result of hard work done by all such people. Its  our  responsibilty  to being United and to make our Bhandari samaja to reach greater hight..
